We've identified an issue that limits your ability to use your "phone as a key" functionality.

What should I do?

• Drivers will need to carry another form of vehicle access (key fob, key card, key band) as these keys still have full functionality.
• For now, avoid opening or using the Rivian app.

What should I do in case of emergency?
If you're experiencing an emergency, please dial 911.

If you need your vehicle remotely unlocked, please contact our Service Team at 855-RIVIAN5 (855-748-4265), we may be able to assist. Note that “phone as a key” will not function until this issue is resolved.

The Service team can also provide rideshare credits to impacted drivers.

I’m currently stuck with my two kids because my phone won’t allow the truck to operate. This is unreal. I’m a coach and won’t be able to get to my teams practice because my fancy truck doesn’t work because of a phone glitch. Wow.

Have you tried calling support, they may be able to open the truck for you remotely.

Always carry the keycard with your credit cards. Never know if you’ll lose, break your phone, or this issue. Sorry you’re having this happen and hope they get you going soon.

The lesson I also learned today is don't rely on the phone app. Keep a card in your wallet and don't leave wallet in car. DOH!

So I've been stuck in a parking lot for 3 hours trying to get someone to bring me my spare keys an hour away lol... funny thing is my key card is sitting right above the cup holders as I've been using that to start my car since my key doesn't recognize most of the time.

The key usually sits in my wallet but last couple weeks it's been sitting there and now this happens... called rivian support to have them open it remotely but guess there's too many requests as it didn't work. Kinda annoying to have these issues still

Ditto. It pushed an updated version of the App and then wouldn't let me log in. This happened, obviously a coincidence, just after I made my first visit to the Rivian service center in Franklin, TN. They had a couple dozen vehicles on the lot, R1T and R1S. The "office" was pretty spartan, just two dudes on computers in a mostly empty room. Still, I'm glad they are close to me (~ 90 miles) in Huntsville, AL.

usually I commute with another car and today I was too lazy to switch places for cars. took the rivian with me to office today with phone only and now this has happened. Somehow I left one of the cards in my office drawer. that was a close call.
