Sorry for a haste post, in a bit of hurry. Those of you who own a forest edge interior, can you look at your dash and tell me if yours look like this? If nothing like this, take a picture and share with me? I kind of gussed a poor workmanship but Rivian tech is incisting this is normal and part of how they had to cut it to bend the wood... I get that but I have seen other excamples that dont have a line like mine but I can't find the picture at the moment to show it to the tech. Thanks.

Mine seems to have something similar. I had to zoom in to even notice it though. Yours looks like it might just be more visible because of the darker veins in the same area.

It's normal. Some have it, some don't. All depending on the grain and how easy it was to bend. I submitted a ticket and that what was told. It is not isolated to just FE. After some google image research, I noticed others having the same slit. Here's mine.

Ok thanks. I was suspecing that the cut was necessary but mine happens to have this dark 'vain' or something around the crack... making it look like 'stain' around the cut and more prominently visible. Oh well... I will share the picture with the tech... if they say no, it's within spect then I will live with it.

Every dash has this, it's part of the process, they have to remove some material to get it to form around the corner. It's also not the only spot that has it, but it's the most obvious.

Munro did a video on this last year. Interesting to learn how they built the dash. This particular feature was something they called out as an imperfect design. I agree it is more obvious on the Forest Edge interior.

Oh sorry.. yeah I know how that goes... never noticed it but one you see, you can't help it :(

Thanks everyone for providing feedbacks. I shall watch the Munro video.
I just didn't notice in online pictures taken at a distance so may be I thought mine wasn't done cleanly.

Wow - I just rushed out to my car as I was sure I didn’t have that. But if you squint and zoom in, you can make it out. I took delivery in July 2022 if that’s worth anything.

Thanks. Yeah every trim piece has the cut in that location to make that sharp bend... it's just that some are way cleaner than others,,, yours seems to be the cleanest and mine the worst.

I noticed it in the past, and assumed it was done to make the bend. Mine is medium visible - and my screen needs cleaning!

They all have this to some degree. Yours looks like too much stain was left at that joint. I don't mind as I prefer natural materials with a natural look, vs some injection molded piece of crap with a "Photo finish".
