AUDI charging at RAN

Sorry no pic. Took a 2 day trip from SF bay area to Yosemite and then dropped off Granddaughter in Sacramento before returning home. While at RAN in Sac AUDI pulls up and charges plug and play. Sooner than I expected, PS charged entire trip at RANs(2) and riv L2 at hotel. Flawless. PS2 Yosemite wild/crazy spectacular!

Did they actually get any electricity from the RAN station? I was under the impression that RAN was still locked to Rivian. I could easy see someone that wasn’t paying attention thinking they were charging up when they really weren’t getting any electricity.

The RAN in Sacramento is right next two a few regular-speed Rivian Waypoint chargers (slow and free). Audi plug into those, or the actual RAN chargers?

Was a regular RAN.. right by me. Was charging. Thats it for the dope for me. I may be totally off base. Time will tell.

Perhaps if it was actually charging it is a Rivian test vehicle for opening up the system. Although an e-Tron would be a curious choice seeing as how a Model Y or ID4 would be a better test car.

Someone else have claimed to charge their Audi at RAN in the past. Maybe a glitch in software on Rivian’s side or a fluke. It isn’t officially open to non-Rivians until “later this year”. Rivian Waypoints have always been open to all.

If it was an etron GT, those have 800V batteries and can hit around 270kW.
