Periodically, my windshield wipers will activate when I go to put the truck in gear. It just swipes one time seemingly like I have triggered the one-time swipe button on the left toggle/lever. Anyone else seeing this? & I can' t imagine what could stop it less turning the wipers off. I do like the automatic setting but I just turned it to off for now. I suppose in summer that's prudent anyway
Normal behavior in my 2022 R1t.
Happens when I back out of the garage many mornings. Sixty Eight thousand really fun miles, no major expense, but to change the two 12 volt batteries up front, and OEM 21 tires before winter each year.

Certainly not 'standard' for automatic wipers. I have two audi EVs and neither exhibit this silly behavior. I get this on a clean, dry windshield on a dry day! Have to leave them set to off to avoid this bug.

Just turn it off until you actually need it. The sensor is too sensitive and perceive dust, pollen and even glare as rain.

This has happened in other vehicles I have owned, not just Rivian, which is why I don't use it.

rivian’s implementation is bugged if it wipes a dry window. it’s truly that simple.

turn off the fanboy for a sec bud. it’s ok to criticize things which should be criticized.

Not being a fan boy Bud, I'm being an educated consumer. Rivian's implementation is identical to nearly every other manufacturer who has rain-sensing automatic wipers.

Did you watch the video? The system has no capability to determine if the obstruction is pollen, water, dust, etc...
