Has anyone felt like driving in the summer heat in Arizona creates a major problem for them? Planning a drive to Tucson from Houston and worried about battery degradation.

Has anyone felt like driving in the summer heat in Arizona creates a major problem for them? Planning a drive to Tucson from Houston and worried about battery degradation.

I have a place in Coachella Valley that has weather similar to Phoenix, never had any issues regarding degradation with my Tesla in that climate.

Vampire drain is another story if I park in the driveway on a 118 degree day. The BMS kicks on and off constantly, not as bad in the garage out of the sun.

I have not had the R1S out there very much on the really hot days, that is why I referenced the Tesla.

The pack is liquid cooled, and actually likes being around 100F. It does fine in the hot deserts in Mexico.

Live in Phoenix, no problems. Running the AC takes a bit more power in the summer than running nothing in the winter. But in the winter we get cold (40s this morning) and that makes bringing the kid to school a little more inefficient, so it mostly balances.
