Looking for a solution for bed rack mounting bikes. We have gravel bikes, 700c tires.

What premium solutions are available to mount bikes w/o removing front tire?

1upUSA.

There are a couple of very, very long threads on bed mounted bike racks. Use the search.

@crashmtb I wouldn't have made this post if I found a suitable option using the search.. I've seen many posts on the 1upUSA exclusively. While I'm sure it works well, it look like crap (to me). This is why I asked for premium solutions.

With that said, any other options from any other companies that offer a solution with a more premium look and feel? Has anyone tried Thule ProRide XT?

With looks being subjective, do you have any examples (for any vehicle, any mounting option) that look premium to you?

Easier to be helpful if we clear on what to shoot for.

Thule, Yakima, Kuat, etc. Something that doesn't look like it was made using angle iron from Home Depot.

I've had all the rack manufacturers mentioned, and IMO the 1Up is as high quality design and function as any. My only complaint is the rack does not lock to the crossbars.

Also saw that Thule just released a similar design essentially copying 1Up with retracting arms to clamp front and rear wheels. Not sure that they are yet available for crossbar mounts, below is the hitch rack version:

I currently have a Kuat NV 2.0 but it doesn't work well hitch mounted on this truck, and we're both OK with a bed mounted system.

^Same, the Kuat is pretty damn nice but hated using the hitch extention for the Rivian.

IMO 1up is as premium as you can get for functional bike racks. They may not look as mass-produced, but that rack is synonymous with quality. On the functional side, people who haven’t owned them may not be aware of the ability to easily position bikes forward or back so that handlebars and cranks can be easily staggered. My buddy bought Kuat trays for his sprinter van and complains to me about them every time he uses my 1up rack.

I wish home Depot carried material as nice as what the 1up is made from.

My only complaint is the rack does not lock to the crossbars.
If you don't take it off the rack often (or maybe ever) one solution some people take is hot gluing ball bearings into the hex heads. Can't be easily removed without heating them up and using a magnet to pull the bearing out.

It is a remarkably well made product. One of the nicest bike racks you can buy. it is most assuredly a premium product.

do you want quality or something pretty? It’s a bike rack FFS.

the Thule won’t work for many bikes. 1up is the only one with enough adjustment. Most racks are fixed at the front wheel mount

I have a Yakima Front loader that I'm able to put my Bianchi Cortina on. You have to be careful about placement because of the spoiler, but It works and you could get 2 similar size bikes on the outsides and two smaller on the inside.
