Curious if anyone here has had problems with reliability of the bed-mounted compressor.

I typically use mine sparingly. Probably 1-2 times per year. It just died for the 2nd time in 3 years of ownership. The LED display works fine to set a target pressure and to read pressure of the connected tire. But, when I push the start button the compressor doesn’t turn on.

Have others experienced failures like this? Any insights on whether it is just a fuse or similar reset or does it really require a whole new compressor?

seems like a standard procedure, try a normal reset like you do with everything else, and if that doesn't work open a ticket.

I suspect mine is flaky. I only use it to top off bicycle tires but noticed recently that it stopped before the target pressure. Sometimes it will continue pumping on/off until the target pressure, sometimes I have to keep pushing the Start button repeatedly, and sometimes it just won’t restart. I don’t know if it is an overheating situation but I don’t know if it would help me for re-airing a Rivian tire. I’m about to open a ticket as my R1T (23) is still under warranty.

I thought the compressor was made by a high end overloading type vendor, forgetting the name at this point. Ticket is the answer.

I've been using mine at least monthly with everything inflatable without issue. But at home for tire pressures for all the vehicles I use the garage compressor.

The compressor for the suspension is ARB. OP is talking about the inflator in the bed, however.

Thanks for the replies. I waited a day to see if it would recover then did a hard reset. Still not working.

Fortunately, I am still just barely in warranty. Submitted a service ticket and scheduled a mobile service appointment. Maybe the mobile tech will have more to say about the cause and likelihood of future failures.

Circling back for an overdue and anticlimactic update. When the mobile tech showed up the compressor decided to just start working. šŸ˜–

Maybe it’s got a loose wire or connector somewhere that occasionally gets jiggled loose? šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
