Best Paint Protection For Rivian?

We have been doing our due diligence on Rivian's and really think this would be a great vehicle for our family. As a pretty active family that is on the road a lot exploring, what do you think the best form of paint protection is for a Rivian? We have looked into both a ceramic coating and paint protection film but would love some feedback from those who have had one or the other installed on their Rivian.

Also, did you opt to DIY or use a professional service?

I debated between PPF and ceramic coating and ended up doing PPF through Protective Film Solutions in Orange County CA. There is a detailer in Colorado that weighs the Pros&Cons of both.
Try looking up “out of spec detailing“ on you tube or search for “Clear Detailing“ in Colorado. Might give you the info you need to make a the right decision for your particular situation.

How well maintained are your current vehicles? dings, scratches, etc? door sills? crumbs, cereal, food bits in the interior, around the car seats? If you don't maintain your cars now, you aren't going to do it with a Rivian so use it however you want and save on the PPF.

More importantly, do you care? or will you care that much after some time?

Personally, I've always maintained my vehicles meticulously, never had PPF, still got dinged and scratched by other vehicles over the years.
With the R1S, I went with the full PPF route with a local installer (Seattle Clearbra) - pretty happy with it but its $$$$. The SUV is large, doors will swing and hit in parking lots, people will lean on the tail gate so I want some form of protection to prolong the inevitable.

PPF is the only thing that will protect it from scratches and chips. Ceramic coatings are more for appearance and ease of maintenance (easier to clean). Ceramic coating will not protect against scratches, chips, or dings. PPF will not prevent dings but it will protect the paint so dings can be easily repaired with PDR.

Full vehicle PPF can be costly at $7,000 and up but its worth it if your OCD like me. Many folks opt for full frontal or high impact which is half that price or less. If you have the time and are handy the DIY kits can help save on costs.

I had my T professional full body PPF. My wife on the other hand isn't convinced PPF is necessary for her S. Many opposed to PPF will say its cheaper to touch up the chips or respray a panel.

I used the ppf with built in Ceramic , the shop in Portland did well before the drive to so calif along the coast

ceramic on the roof and the rest of the truck , easy to clean and it’s a daily driver.

My local shop did some warranty work on the ppf no charge.

You should have ceramic coating, with or without PPF IMO.

If you're going to PPF, you should still use ceramic.
