I have 2 electric folding bikes, a bit heavier than my non-electric bikes. They fold, which makes for more convenient storage, but they still slide around the bed unless I do some creative strapping. Are there any in-bed mounting solutions?

I don't feel comfortable using tailgate pads due to the wiring on and near the bike post, and roof rails are out because of the bike weight.

Maybe a DIY solution.

Your DYI solution looks pretty slick to me. Not only secure but you created some secure storage bins between the tire slots. Just curious what is your reason for wanting something different?

There are some nice hitch racks. You might want to check out what 1Up Racks has to offer.

I have used Rocky Mountain Backstage SwingAWay hitch rack for 2 years. Works great. Holds 2 E bikes or other bikes.

Dang man I apologize - that pic of the wooden box is not mine, I grabbed it from the interwebs for reference only.

Well that’s okay. Find a good carpenter and have them build you one 🙂

I've been using the same Yakima hitch mount bike rack for, I don't know, decades? Whenever I get a new vehicle, if it doesn' have a hitch receiver, I head to UHaul and get in installed. The older style might be not work either electric bikes, but the newer ones probably will. And more options than Yakima these days..
