You can use those to strap down some light items, like a bicycle or lawnmower, but I would NOT use those points to strap down a motorcycle or something heavy (I'm talking about the bolts holding in the bedliner)
Oh 100%. Didn’t realize we were talking about heavy machinery type stuff

I mean, it would have been nice if those points could be converted to something that you could use a ratchet strap on and really cinch down, like a road going motorcycle, but alas, it's only a M6 into a rivnut--I probably even wouldn't use it on a dirt bike...

Stumbled upon this thread--I just DIY'd some aluminum L-tracks down both sides of the bed, and can definitively say that those M6 mounting points (the ones under the plastic circular caps) are NOT MEANT TO BE LOAD BEARING--they are only meant to hold down the plastic bed liner.

The M6s bolt into a rivnut, which is rivetted into a thin sheet of aluminum . I know because when installing the L-tracks, one of the rivnuts became stripped then started spinning freely, so I had to remove that side of the plastic bed panel, replace the rivnut and added some JB weld on the backside to stop it from spinning.

I plan to use the L-track mainly for securing light loads (basically to keep it from shifting). The big torx-bolts that hold down the D-ring shackles in the bed (of which there are only 2 on each side) are into the frame and are meant for securing anything of substance...

FYI
Can you post pictures of your setup? I'm thinking about doing a similar project.
