There are no current blue and yellow plates. The only historic ones a available are the black and yellow— it won the dmv poll they did a few years back (I voted for yellow and blue, actually)

You can now get aftermarket license plates in about any color you want. I saw a Tesla with a simple white plate with black letters (not digital) that looked nice.

You can find tons of websites and Etsy & eBay sellers online offering custom license plates in aluminum and stick on (to use on the front). I haven’t bought from any of these & haven’t done enough research to determine which one is best. But here’s one example.

I’m considering ordering aftermarket plates in black, rather than waiting for DMV. I’m curious if anyone has done this or recommends any sources for aftermarket plates.

You should check your local laws, most places it is not legal and in some cases a felony to use those plates on you vehicle.

Yeah I’m sure it’s not legal, but a felony? Really? I don’t know how the cops would ever know they aren’t official DMV plates, or why they’d care. With all the serious criminal activity being overlooked in this state, this should be the least of their concerns.

Who knows, odd what they make laws for and how they are interpreted.

The digital plates are legal. The Etsy plate wraps are not. Not sure cops pull people over for that or not, but def not legal to wrap a plate.
