Under the pigment layer is a layer with suspended particles. Some of these particles are metallic (hence metallic paint). These metallic particles can reflect or block light—like two sides of any one-way mirror. And everyone should be familiar with mirrors? They reflect and bounce light from surroundings. And light isn't just bright or dark. Light has color too, the full spectrum, including those that aren't visible to the human eye.
