So how does Rivian fit into that now, it doesn’t have a series number so it has to go by weight.
10 or 15% pst. Says so in the second table.

Nothing. Which is pretty funny.
And that’s my point, from some guys I’ve talked to about the exemption from an upped tax bracket, bc goes by CRA definition for weight, so if it’s anything like the lux tax definition, then rivians also exempt from the 10% pst.

Ultimately I’m sure Rivian will tell us… I’d ask them now, but don’t expect an answer yet

stick some 2500 badges on and you should be good.

….Except table two of the ZEV section says otherwise.

I had a back and forth with the BC gov on this topic the other day, and the Rivian, depending on the price you pay will either be 10% pst plus 5% federal tax, or 15% PST ,plus 5% gst. I outlined the weight of the vehicle and they shot that down as not being a factor unfortunately.

don’t get why their own bulletin doesn’t say, in plain language, that the tables for ZEV take precedence over the weight classifications.
