it's about wind resistance while towing and a box trailer is, well, boxy.

General consensus is to expect a 40-60% drop in range while towing. The Rivian trailer weight feature is nice, but note that it measures the weight within the first mile-ish of distance. For example, one time while towing a loaded U-Haul Car trailer, my Rivian said the trailer weight was 1,000lbs as it measured this weight while going down our driveway (it drops 130' in 1/4 mile). After my first charge stop, I disconnected the trailer lights and reconnected them, and the truck recalculated (on flat roads) that the trailer weighed about 5,000lbs.

I too have a Kendon stand up trailer that I haul my dirt bike with. I suspect the aero drag would reduce range considerably and will test on a 75 mile trip in the next month or so. The weight of the bike and trailer is fairly minimal but wind resistance is an unknown. If I had to guess, will probably end up at 1.5 MKH at 60 mph.

I have about 1000 miles worth of experience/summary data for my single axle, 1500 lb empty, 2500 lb loaded, 5w x 8l x 6h Pace American box trailer. But since I have an R1 and I am therefore unqualified, I'll not post anything.
