The new parameter in my color selection is now the tax credit. I changed away from blue to save $1000 and keep MSRP (vehicle+destination) below $80k.Was at the service center yesterday and took a pic of one of the two R1S' I saw inside, looked very nice. I have a S on order and still have no idea what exterior color to go with...interior will for sure be the "new" Ocean Coast with the dark wood - that is awesome.

Damn, that blue is good looking! I'm still in favor of LG.The new parameter in my color selection is now the tax credit. I changed away from blue to save $1000 and keep MSRP (vehicle+destination) below $80k.
The good news is that I was on the fence anyway over 4 different colors.
Thanks for the photo. It's great seeing the R1S in Denver.
Yes, I'm a late 2021 R1S reservation. I'm expecting a 2nd half of 2023 delivery. Right now I'm mostly waiting on an R1S First Mile Drive in Denver.Damn, that blue is good looking! I'm still in favor of LG.
Btw...I assume you're taking delivery of your vehicle in 2023, which is when that under 80K requirement comes into play.
Sadly, you will probably get your vehicle prior to getting a first mile drive in an R1S. If you want a good feel for Rivian, I would recommend signing up for an R1T first drive. I did, and it was well worth it!Yes, I'm a late 2021 R1S reservation. I'm expecting a 2nd half of 2023 delivery. Right now I'm mostly waiting on an R1S First Mile Drive in Denver.
BTW...how does one "sign-up for an R1T first drive". I've been calling/chatting with customer service once a week for months asking for a first drive. If you have a way to break the code, I'm all ears...Sadly, you will probably get your vehicle prior to getting a first mile drive in an R1S. I have no idea how they are choosing people to invite, but I am a Dec 21 reservation and was invited for a drive last month. I didn’t really ask them about it after my initial inquiry about a drive back in December, but I doubt that had anything to do with whether I got an invite or not.BTW...how does one "sign-up for an R1T first drive". I'm pretty sure I had booked it through my Guide. I will ask her how one goes about that scheduling one. Very surprised that CS can't be more helpful w/ that.BTW...how does one "sign-up for an R1T first drive". So....while I broke away from 'work' for a few minutes to grab lunch, I nearly chocked when I got the below email. Needless to say, I cancelled my next meeting and couldn't click the 'Let's Go' button fast enough.
More than 3.5 years of waiting, it's finally happening! I'm still kinda in shock really.
Now I get to focus on the 8 step purchase process. So far so good.
For those really early pre-orders - just gotta keep the faith.
