It’s going to be super windy today. Y’all be safe out there.
Already did a deep charge on the truck and power banks ahead of expected power outages in my area. We had gusts up to 102 mph on Wednesday with more of the same expected today with extremely high fire danger.

Yep, the front range from Lyons to Golden is in a NWS "Particularly Dangerous Situation" (conditions similar to the Marshall fire day). Xcel plans another PSPS today and other power companies in this area are on red flag warning meaning that out of caution power is cut if the system senses anything unusual (aka one-shot). That doesn't even include outages from wind damage.

Be safe and good luck out there!

Made the leap to Rivian, year end deals too good to pass up along with exceptional trade in offer with incentives to move away from Tesla. Looking forward to many enjoyable road trips and adventures in the R1T. Now to find running boards to make it easier for my wife and excited that the RAN station in Lakewood is extremely close to going live!

@COroamer33 welcome to the Rivian family! And thank you for this info. I didn't realize Lakewood RAN was close to opening. This is a very useful location for coming out of the mountains and charging before heading south to C-Springs.
Looks like this station uses time of day pricing between $0.30 and $0.43.

Looks like they're finally coming to their senses on pricing? I don't think I've run across a RAN location priced under 0.40 since 2024.

Agree. I had stopped using them when prices were the $0.55 to $0.60 /kWh range. But I just completed a 3600 mile road trip and found RANs to be competitive again to EA and Tesla, both with premium accounts. RAN is back at the top of my list...well, maybe tied with IONNA. With plug and play now, the IONNA process was seamless, charge curves excellent, and prices low.

We are getting ready to embark on a 2,500 mile round trip adventure to CA and back. Curious to see if you signed up for the Tesla membership to save on charging fees?

Definitely. You make back the $13 after only one or two charging sessions.
On our route, using 2 EA stations each way was unavoidable so I also bought the $8 premium account for them.
We used the accounts for 10 days, then canceled, but definitely saved money in the process.
One heads up though with EA. In the early days of my Rivian, I always had to plug in first, then activate the charge through my account using the app. The EA instructions still say this. However, at some point that I missed in an update, EA is now plug and play with Rivian. I caught this when I noticed I was paying full price after plugging in first. So now you activate the correct plug through the app, then plug in, just like you have to do with Tesla.
No account or app is needed for Ionna, and you should be able to use 2 of these excellent stations- Fruita CO, and Beaver UT.
Enjoy your trip!

There are usually a few Rivians that show up for the Cars and Coffee in Lafayette on the first Saturday of each month. Otherwise, if you're not in Rocky Mountain Rivian Club, they have events periodically. Last one I did was a drive through Rocky Mountain Arsenal NWR.

https://rockymountain.rivianclubs.org/ - and we have one this weekend.. I've never been down to one of these. I signed up but just see myself and one other going. Maybe a few more can come. I imagine once we have the R2's out, the size of the Fort Collins owners alone would probably allow for our a group up here.
