Compressor door won't stay down in bed.

Is anyone else seeing this? The compressor door won't click down and stays open (on spring) about 30% open. The door over the 120 receptacles closes normally.

Yes, I am seeing the same thing on mine. I put it on my list for the service visit on 2/1/23.

Same here…was told by SC it’s normal. I did a check of several to-be-delivered R1Ts on the lot and they were all the same. Seems it just doesn’t snap closed like I expected.

I like the magnet idea…will look into that…

Is it supposed to be spring loaded closed like the outlet side? Mine has always just opened and kind of popped into place held open, reverse when closing.

Just to be clear, The compressor door and the outlet door are manufactured differently. Because electricity needs to get protected when not in use it has a pretty strong spring. I wish it didn’t because if you are reaching in to plug something with one hand it’s very difficult. You basically need 2 hands. One to open the door and the other to plug in the cord. In the other hand the compressor door can stay open and it is nice to stay open when needed to read the pressure while filling. But I agree the fact that it won’t stay closed would bug me too.

Was anyone able to find a solution, via service center or otherwise? I haven’t tried affixing magnets yet, but that might be next. Doubt Velcro would work…

Service replaced my door and totally fixed it.

I have this issue and I had filed a service ticket for it.

I was told by Rivian Service that this is a known issue, but there is no known solution to address it at this time, and told me they would file this ticket away until they let me know they've identified a solution.

...I just saw TXR1S's reply. I'm expecting Rivian will contact me s00n...

Mine does this too and way worse now that my tonneau is busted and the bed is always opened.

SC told me was "normal" though he agreed it isn't a great design. Hope they have a better design for it at some point (though I prefer my tonneau to be fixed first!) I was thinking of doing the magnet too for now just because it annoys me LOL
