I’ve read a few post that state people don’t have any power to their console and sometimes headrest USB ports. There are claims it is or is going to be fixed with a software update. But I don’t see anywhere it has been fixed. None of mine are working to charge an iPhone. Different cables still nothing. So I guess my question is is there going to be a software update for this or is the only way to fix it is a service visit?

Oh - that sucks (doubly so because they removed the 12V plug from the cab). I'm guessing you're using a 120V adapter plugged into the second row outlet to get by.

Sounds like you need a service visit - a number of people who have had this problem learned (by visiting a SC) that the connector that powers those four USB ports was unplugged. Some searching here may help you find that.

So I had this issue for a while and went back and forth with service on it, at one point they told me the entire console had to be taken apart! Then magically after a software update I think at some point in October it magically fixed itself.

Good to know. Hopefully someone will lead me in the direction where I can look.

In my case power/data to the center console ports was super flaky, acting just like there was a connector loose somewhere. Sure enough when I pulled the panel around the camp speaker latch inside the console I found a loose connector with a broken latch tab. I reseated the connector and jammed a little wad of paper in to hold the tab, and voila - all fixed. Here's a pic:

Super I’ll look for it - do you know if it also controls the head rest ports ?

I don't think so, in my vehicle the headrest ports always seemed to work fine.

It's possible you triggered the e-fuse... Rivian has an issue with the USB-C ports, but long story short, if you try to charge something more power demanding (like 2 phones at the same time or a laptop) it may blow the e-fuse. Try a soft reboot. If that doesn't fix it - call the SC.
