Corte Madera RAN

Anyone been to this RAN lately? It still shows on the app as free charging.. but wasn't sure if that was an error or not. Curious why this one would still be free and not the others.. (hoping they keep it free.. love to go Muir Woods on a day trip, and charging here for free would be amazing)

Try it and tell us! As far as I've seen, the app has always been correct about the cost. You can search the forum for "Corte Madera" - the last report I see, from 3 Dec, says it was still free. New chargers generally are free initially, but at some point it will switch to payment required.

I tried stopping here (Corte Madera) the other day with expectation that I'd be paying .3-.5$/kWh. The site had only 4 of 6 DC dispensers working. R1 vehicles were swarming for spots. Telsa's were hogging ALL the Level 2 EVSEs. What a mess!

I think it would have been a different scene if Rivian had billing enabled. Kind of disgusting to see Marin folks gorging themselves with "free" electricity. Yuk!

I can confirm that Corte Madera was free on 26 Dec. We were heading back to Oakland from the Marin Headlands. All RAN chargers were working and it was not crowded (3 stalls in use). There are four(?) L2 waypoint chargers, and 3 of 4 were in use (all non-Rivians, of course). Not sure why it is still free. A loss leader to entice buyers from Marin County ??? Who knows.
