I just randomly looked up while in my R1S a week ago and noticed a decent crack in the roof. I called Rivian support and booked a time slot with the service center for next Monday. Today they sent me an estimate for $2059.71.

I've never touched my roof, don't remember anything hitting it at all. It's also parked in a garage full time. I received delivery in Dec 2022 and it has less than 6k miles on it.

Seems like this should be a warranty repair - anyone have any advice on getting them to cover this or am I just SOL? If they don't cover it - how dangerous is it to just drive around w/ a cracked roof? If the new one might crack again in another year or 2, I'd rather just wait to fix it until I'm ready to sell.

See if your insurance covers it under the glass coverage. That is a healthy crack, it will probably just continue to spread.

How have you only driven 6000 in 2.5 years?

I have a similar crack on my 25 R1T's roof. Just happened to glance up one day and noticed it. No sign of impact on the inside or outside of the roof. The field tech (for the battery bracket recall) said the replacement cost was $3200. I'll ask them about it again next week when it goes in for its tire rotation.

I don't imagine there's any danger. I keep a sunshade in my R1T, so I almost never see my pano glass. I discovered a couple of months ago that mine has major cracks, and has a big impact point. It doesn't leak air or water, so I didn't have a clue. There must be plastic sandwiched in the glass, like there is in the windshield.
I recall a time when I was driving and thought a rock had hit my windshield, but I couldn't find the impact point/crack; I am theorizing that it must have hit the pano glass. That was probably six months ago.
