I've encountered multiple errors where CC shuts off and displays a Red Warning "Take Control, Fault Detected". Has anyone else encountered this? I've submitted a service request and received a call inquiring details. We'll see what they do for a fix.

No. I have had number of ‘phantom’ slow downs under cruise control, but no error messages or cut-offs.

Never had an error yet, but yes the occasional slow down when it thinks an adjacent or exiting vehicle is still in my lane.

So phantom braking? Not far off from Tesla?

Yes, pretty similar to what I experienced in the early days with the Model S. Not all that common but it has happened a few times. Once the R1T saw a phantom bicycle and displayed it on the screen. I guess better safe than sorry for the time being. I have also experienced the issue of the Drive+ ‘dipping’ into a highway exit. Also something the Tesla used to do. Alll to be improved in time with updates.

We hit a really bad rain storm going to Columbus. It was the kind you are ready to pull off because you cannot see. All of a sudden the images of two cars directly in front appeared on the screen. There were no cars and it went away, but for a short time, the computer was fooled.

I had this happen yesterday about 3 times on Drive+ yesterday with mild-heavy rain. Eventually it stopped offering Driver+ when the weather improved.

I'm getting this exact error. Probably happened 8 times so far, mostly at night.

Cruise will not re-engage after, but after awhile it does.

Any update on issues from support? I didn't contact them yet.

I have an appointment at the service center on Wednesday. Mine won’t stay on more than a couple of seconds.

I have had the same issues. I happened 3 times while on a drive in the rain. Wonder if that has something to do with it?

Weather definitely has an impact. It has to be able to 'see' and the rain will obscure the camera and mist has an impact on RADAR and Ultrasonic sensors.

Echoing others, weather has a huge impact. We drove in a lot of rain and snow this weekend, the rain make the truck think there was a random car overtaking and would hit brakes, the snow would cover up the radar on the front clip and NO cruise control was available... Adaptive Cruise Control is cool, but I think we should be able to do regular Cruise Control without adaptive.

Am I missing a setting, button, or feature to turn off ACC and maintain regular CC?

I wish there was a option for a regular cruise control. I have now had two "Lengthy" service encounters and still don't have CC. The latest software update to the truck only made it worse. Now I don't have any of the ADAS features(Blind Spot, Ultrasonic sensors, Collision mitigation, etc.). Service has identified that the camera in my windshield needs to be replaced. However, they sent the tech to my house with the wrong camera. He also tried for six hours to get the latest software to take. The update kept getting stuck at the module that controls the cameras.

Interestingly, I just got a call from service and they asked me to do a reset and were gonna send a update to the truck.
