Its a worn-out excuse in everyone's mind (including me) but undoubtedly the Covid-O rampaging must be impacting the Rivian production line. Today where I work in San Diego, I noticed that the parking lot was lightly filled. More so than you'd attribute to post year-end holiday hangovers especially given its Jan. 10th already.

Till Dec 15 they had produced 650, they closed 2021 with 1015. So (1015 - 650)/14 (accounting for holidays) = 26 per day.

if all they do is maintain this rate in 2022 they will produce 9204 vehicles in 2022

I expect them to at least double it & if they manage to deliver almost all of them they might close out 2022 with a billion in revenue (priced at 70K per unit approx), at worst if they maintain the rate half a billion in revenue. Impressive for a startup in its second year of actual production?
So, I am a pessimist who believes there were several people working on 12/31 until midnight to get as many vehicles "completed" so they could be "a few hundred short" and meet the goal of what they said on December 15. I bet Jan 1 was quiet, as was 2-3. They will not be producing 26 cars per day in the first few weeks of January! I would be surprised if they have a 26 vehicle daily average in the first quarter.

Don’t worry, the last 16 were missing doors and windows but they produced them! ?

Kidding of course
Maybe they were actually building the removable roof option too! ?

They wouldn't be able to push out a significant number of vehicles during a few days if they are only at 10s of vehicles per day. Even working 24/7 they are not going to be able to significantly go from many hundreds short to a few hundred short.

I wasn’t thinking very many. They needed to produce more than 1000 to be within their “few hundred” short. They definitely were working overtime.

Yes, it's always good when others look out for you. I do appreciate @Diddy123 and your reply, Duck. You can't make it in this world alone.:)

I agree and hope you're right, but I'm still cautious about letting my guard down. I can't afford to be disappointed once again.....I'll end up making a bad decision.
