Random thought occurred to me after being inundated with Cybertruck posts on this forum (and everywhere else) the last few weeks - I haven't actually seen any video of people opening the doors... anyone seen how this is accomplished? Is there an actuator that slightly pushes the door open (like our gear tunnel), or is it actually motorized like the front doors on the Model X? I don't see any evidence of manual handles... so how do you get in when the "auto" part of the door inevitably breaks?

One of the things I like about my R1T is that it combines the best of the Model S door handles (auto-present, and you can open easily with either hand) with the best of the Model 3 door handle (if the actuator breaks, you can still manually open the door, and it's designed to clear ice/snow).

Cybertruck also seems to have retained the frameless window design, which has kept me out of my Model 3 several times each winter for several to 20 minutes waiting for it to thaw so the window can roll down and clear the door trim. The CT doesn't seem to have the chrome door trim mine has, so you might not be even able to force it open if the window doesn't roll down!

I hope some of the first owners live somewhere snowy so we get answers to these questions this winter lol.

You are required to get one of Elon's brain implants installed at the nearest Tesla showroom. That is your key. It's IAAK.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Interpretive dance while listening to the intro music from Halo 4. Only then will the doors magically open.

Decided to sleuth around a bit to try to answer my own question: surprisingly little out on there on this "minor" detail!

and

https://www.cybertruckownersclub.co...g-cybertruck-door-and-charge-port-cover.8643/

seem to be the most recent threads, and each feature the same video.

That looks awkward for the rear door; couldn't quite see what he did for the front door.

And check out this screen cap of his kid getting in! The back seat of this thing will be hilariously unusable, at least it seems so from this short video... my 14 year old would already hit his head on that door frame.

Yeah, the rear seats would have to be quite a bit lower than the front just because of the roof slope. I can't imagine shorter passengers will even be able to see out the windows. There is so much with this thing:facepalm:

Yeah I'm thinking either the rear seats will be close to the floor like in my Model 3 to get enough headroom, or the seats will be a reasonable distance off the floor (like our trucks), but have minimal headroom.

Found another post from 2021 about it doing something similar to the Model X; though there isn't any evidence of it doing that in the 2023 video. Some of the comments are pretty hilarious even 2 years ago when there was more speculation.

And don't be surprised to find out that you've tweeted a bunch of random offensive musings the night before... and have no recollection of it?

I hope there are barf bag dispensers back there. Motion sickness will be a problem.

But then what? What do you grab to finish opening it? How far out does the Mach-E open the door? (I've never been in one)

I totally read that as "Elon's breast implants". I think it's bedtime...

rear door of MachE has a pad on the inside of the door that you grab after you hit the button. I’m not a fan of it of any of these weird multiple actions to get in a car. It does have a slick latch that keeps you from being able to pinch your fingers so the door stays “propped” until you open it a certain distance then close it.

If Kim is 5’5” tall (according to her), there did not appear to be more than 5 or so inches above her head in the rear seat. Will be tight for anyone in the 6’ tall range. Not unusual for a back seat in any vehicle these days I guess…

Also, it seems unfair that she didn’t attempt to sit on the CT glass roof like she did with the R1T :CWL:
