That and the inability to make a powered tonneau cover are 2 misses for Rivian which are a shame.

It remains to be seen how good the CT frunk is vs lightning. And if their tonneau holds up in the real world. I already dont like that you cant see out the back window with the tonneau closed.

I honestly prefer the Rivian style of frunk. It helps contain gear when the hood is opened. A giant tub versus a tub with a side missing.

When we ski we pack in jackets and other soft items that would be hard to pack tightly with that style of opening.

Same. I use mine most often for groceries and I never have to worry about them spilling out if I had a rather spirited ride home from the grocery store.

I felt the same after having the Hummer. There was a slight lip to attempt to keep things from falling out but if you really packed the frunk up tight, it was inevitable that the front objects would want to come out. It also made getting it to close completely when jam packed pretty annoying.

I understand the short people not liking the Rivian frunk, but I think it's a better design for actually packing it full.

It seems the solution to any of this is the flexibility of just putting in a couple clear plastic tubs for that functionality when you want it.

For the F150 Lightning and Cybertruck they wanted to allow loading/unloading easier of heavier items.

Smaller ladies, aging folks, kids, etc can then utilize the frunk areas easier.

F150 has compartments too.

If I have to get something extra to make my Frunk usable, plastic bins, one could say the same sort of advice to someone short with the Rivian frunk. Get a step ladder and put it in there and boom no more issues with height.

Rivian style is also stronger. We see this in cars where sedans versions
are more rigid than hatch/lift back versions.

Here is the Chevrolet Silverado EV solution. That net is a great and simple solution.

Seems like Rivian is the only one that went a different route.

Yeah i'd have preferred that. But not a deal breaker. You just get more options with a full open.
