It’s almost impossible to tell, but the ground where the CT dug itself a big hole didn’t look muddy - just soft. I think if the idiot driving it had simply not tried to drive straight up the hill they would have gotten out. As would a QM and most other 4WD vehicles being driven by someone with experience.

Pretty sure my Rubicon 392 wouldn't have issues either, with proper diffs and lockers (and a winch).
Yup. There is no substitute for lockers. Just as important, in this case, is wheel-speed, to dig through to traction and clear your lugs. That 392 has zero issues with getting wheel-speed!
