Funny, my dream vehicle takes all of these elements and combines them into a single vehicle. Call it whatever you will, if they can build that mix I'm buying.
I think all those features need to go into all of the ev pickups, but the real winner will be fast charging … if Tesla can make the Cybertruck charge 10% to 100% without degradation at whatever Supercharger V.4 can produce, that makes it the utility that solves the overlanding and towing problem.
For now, they each have their niche in the EV pickup market. Musk just spoke about the Cybertruck and by not saying anything, made it clear they're building it any time soon.

p.s. just drove my R1T 200+ miles today, one, quick $20 charge at 200kW, worked all day, it spend 12+ hours in heavy rain and snow … the whole bed remained bone dry … pretty happy about that. : )

Those are nice features for sure. But will also keep pushing that price up. Musk recently made comments that sounded like they were planting the seeds for people to expect it to cost more than previously hinted.
I think this is key, this thing made a splash initially for several reasons and one of them was price. Realistically the $40k version was probably a pipe dream but I'd be surprised if the first version is much less than $100k. And the cheap version in the $70-80k range.

Hummer EV does not have a mid-gate and Cybertruck has a larger bed and more storage compartments. Electric Silverado has a mid-gate and gives over 10ft of bed length that way.
Hummer has a roll-down rear window though, that's the part that's competing.

How does that collection of features remotely compare to the Homer?
I don't think the reference to the Homer is anything more than a joke.
If anything the Homer is the antithesis of the Hummer EV and the Cybertruck, it's just that a lot of people won't be able to set aside the outlandish, ostentatious appearance of the Hummer EV and the Cybertruck to see the underlying value and utility of the EV pickups … and criticism continues to be the totally off-target "but it can't tow 10,000lbs for 300 miles!"

I've reviewed the videos from the event and whoever said on twitter that the Cybertruck has a folding mid-gate and roll down rear window doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.

It has neither.

"Specifications subject to change without notice."

The midgate config is recent news. Whether or not it makes it to the first production spec, if that really happens in '23 as Musk asserted at the Cyber Rodeo … who can say?
