Dash Cam/Radar Detector Harness - Mirror tap

Has anyone used this harness before? This seems to be the most clean set up for mirror mount.
I tried using the red/black pins from wire tap and had hard time inserting them correctly.
Ended up damaging the rain sensor attached to the windshield last time.

Wondering if the mirror tap is still be best method to power radar detector? Does it turn off soon after locking the truck?

I wish instead of releasing Gary themed underwear in the Rivian shop last week, they had released things that were needed, like a good pigtail to power a radar detector and a dash cam.

Let us know how the install goes.

I use a tap. It’s cheaper and still easy to install

I just installed my radar detector this week. I had a mirror tap harness that I removed from a taycan lemon, but damaged one of the pins and it was intermittent. Replaced it with this kit:

the difference is the pin converters at end of mirror tap vs 3 made in china harnesses, two of which you will not need.
Functionality is the same. Make sure you get a solution with a fuse.

On the one you linked to I like the inline connector concept, but putting a USB-A receptacle on a 12v rail seems wrong…
