Got my truck back from getting the tonneau installed, and found one of my rear headrests installed backwards and quite smushed

think this will return to normal or should I be requesting a new one?

I did pop it out as show in the second pic

question is whether it will return to normal. It’s super smushed and lost its form altogether

I guess time will tell

Probably not. I’d get a new one.

Why did they have to remove your headrest to install your cover? That makes no sense.

The storage compartment for the tonneau cover is partially under the "shelf" that sits behind the headrests, between the seat and glass. They likely had the seats backs removed needing access to this area from the inside of the truck.

Makes sense, i just assumed they would only need access from the bed side of that space. 🤷‍♂️

OP- if this is your biggest issues then you're off to a great start. I'd contact Rivian if you think it's a serious enough issue. It's hard to decipher how bad it is and there's also the issue of how bad it is for you. All the best.

Man, that sucks. FWIW I would remove the headrest and use a heat gun (just warm, not hot hot) and see if warming the deformed area causes it to return to shape. And to remove the headrest, now that these little tools I make are available from me or as print your own, that kind of damage doesn't need to happen.
