I'd pass on that truck and ask to be put back into the queue where you were before. Your guide made the mistake so Rivian should be able to reset you and make it right. They can easily sell that vehicle to another person in CA.

Keep your $7k + tax break in CO.

Correct - that would be what i would have done if it was before september... but if there is any type of hiccup and now it gets delivered in 2023 - I potentially lose $7500 federal tax credit. Supervisor did call me and is looking at possibly transporting the vehicle to Nevada to be able to legally register from Nevada to Colorado. California is a state that requires any vehicles delivered in California to collect California Sales Tax.

Does this have anything to do with the address listed on the sale documents??? I ask b/c I will be purchasing the vehicle with our vacation home address which is closer to the SC in WA.

So no where on any Signed buyer's agreement is a California address, everything has my Colorado address.. it is however in my Rivian profile. The issue i believe is the guide put it on a train to California, thinking an out of state registration can occur. I asked the supervisor how this was not caught earlier and he mentioned that the registration team only gets involved once delivery is scheduled and they caught this issue.

Is there any other vehicles available in Nevada or Colorado for you to match? Since Rivian messed up, Rivian should make it right for you.

So after escalating to a lead Guide and many phone calls, we did reach a solution that is satisfactory for all. The team will be transporting the R1S to a different service center which services the address in my profile and performing the delivery how it should have been from the beginning. Unfortunately they said this will take about 3 weeks.

So in the end, I think this is the best case scenario I could have hoped for. And oh Yeah, i asked and was granted a new guide.
