Wondering what you guys would do in this situation....
-Received notification on Sept 23 that i was matched to an R1S. Told guide that even though i'm currently working in california, I permanently live in Colorado, and that i would want to pick up R1s in Colorado (or Nevada) Guide said no problem we can ship to California and have everything registered from Colorado. This is important because i have a low tax rate, CO charges tax on net transaction price (trade in reduces taxable amount), and i would get the Colorado EV Tax Credit.
- Guide arranged shipping to California, had a snafu on trade in value, she gave me a amount I accepted then told me oh no that's incorrect it was a typo..But anyways i ate the difference, only about 3k.
- Vehicle Arrives on 17th, arrange financing, everything signed and check sent. Then Wait, and Wait, and wait. Multiple texts and calls with promises for an update and no update. Finally get told on NOV 3 that a repair had to happen but will be completed on the 4th and schedule delivery. on 5th schedule delivery for the 9th.
(frustrated, but the end is near. Interest accruing for 2 weeks on loan)
-Get a call 3 hours ago saying, Sorry, i was just told by registration team that it can not be registered in Colorado since its in California. I propose different options - delivery to Nevada, i'll pay for transport. 1 day temp tag, etc. And every answer takes 30 minutes to hear back, and finally shes texts me - you have 2 options - cancel this delivery or take delivery and pay the new updated cost. Price went up by over 4.5k dollars (due to taxes) and i lose the EV Tax credit from colorado. No longer responds to my texts.
SOOO.... what would you guys do.. haha? I have the original signed buyer's agreement and my 8 step process is back down to 6, but delivery appt is still on for wednesday.
TLDR - Guide made a mistake and delivered my vehicle to where i'm currently working and state laws do not allow out of state registration. Guide says my only option is an increase of over 7000 dollars (taxes and loss of credit).
