Just a clarification, not quite a donut, rather a compact spare that inflates to a decent size. I purchased it some time ago.

The other clarification that needs to be made with this is that it's worthless without a compressor (since some of the Gen2 models don't come with them).

Gen 2 models without the onboard compressor come with a portable inflator (located under the subfloor of the frunk).

Good info. Not aware of that.

For what it's worth it's very small and when I get my spare I'll be looking to upgrade to a better portable unit. Issue is that most are cordless/rechargeable which is fine but I want a corded option in case the battery dies, most portable inflators that have a direct corded option want 12V DC and even if I knew how I wouldn't want to mess with the Rivian 12V system after seeing all of the stories of 12V battery failures bricking vehicles, a flat tire could end up being even more disabling!
Seems a much better idea to access the 120V AC outlet that I assume drawers from the main battery. But finding a (decent) rechargeable option that offers direct 120V powering and enough guts to fill a tire on a 7000lb vehicle isn't easy, Dewalt has one which uses their regular power tools batteries but I'm pretty heavily committed to the Milwaukee 18V cordless powertools system, they have what looks like a great portable pump but it doesn't allow for direct corded powering.
Sorry if a bit off topic.

I called to order and they added the installation to my upcoming SC appointment.

I don’t know what installation is required but glad I didn’t have to schedule another appointment just for that.

Mine is being done by mobile service (in Januuary), the Rivian guy I spoke to on the phone said they need to install a bracket but he wasn't 100% sure himself.

On the R1T, the "installation" consisted of removing the spare tire compartment organizer that was supplied with the vehicle and putting the tire and jack kit in the storage compartment while installing the new 1' long anchor bolt to keep everything from rattling around. When the mobile service tech "installed" mine two weeks after vehicle purchase, we chatted more about the nice set of storage racks in the R1T he drove around than he spent on the "install".
