Driver side door rubbing, causing paint issues.

Has anyone seen where the drivers door just touches the front panel when opened/closed? My Passenger door is fine.

What I thought was a build up of dirt, I just noticed today it’s really damage due to the door catching on the front panel when opened and closed.
Anyone else seeing this?

I have this situation on the passenger side, the two doors rub about the middle of the panels. I actually have a service order to have this corrected in about two weeks.

Mine was the same when it left for the service center 2 weeks ago.
Was a significantly thicker gap higher up and was nearly rubbing at the bottom.

I had this happen between my two passenger doors over the weekend. First time in the 90's is when it occurred. I reported it, along with some other issues.

The panel gap on the passenger side between the two doors is significantly smaller than the drivers side.

Had the same issue on my drivers side door occasionally. Had it in to the service center and they fixed it along with a couple of other minor things.

Everyone says - a little panel gap issue is no big deal, then this happens.

Now they have to replace paint the panel and the new paint will be slightly different shade and you either live with the one panel looking different or you blend the new paint into the good paint on the panels around it… or you glob on some touch up.

major body work or crappy touch up paint finish are your two choices.


Where the F are the multiple inspections and PDI… how is this not being caught?

How did this turn out for you all? I have this issue between the two passenger side doors. I thought it was a scrub from the kids getting in and out until we heard the creaking of the two panels rubbing together... and then saw the paint issue. I have a service appt to fix the wheel well trim on the driver's side which is misaligned... now I've added this to the list.

Caught this same issue yesterday on my recently delivered R1T. Ambient temperature was 81 degrees Fahrenheit. I added this to an existing ticket...hopefully it's just a door adjustment/appropriate torque.

Had the same on my passenger side - service fixed and repaired the paint… my PPF is a bit worse for wear though.

Same issue happened with is. Requires a service call and panel adjustment. Haven't experienced it since. They didn't touch up my paint, though.
