Hey all, first real annoyance. I've noticed the driver side somewhere around the window makes a lot of wind noise. It sounds as if I have the window slightly cracked and you hear the wind blowing in. I don't feel any breeze and running my hand around the outside edges of the glass I don't feel any gaps. I have an appt with my SC in two weeks for the passenger map light not turning on to touch and I'll ask them then as well but figured I'd pick y'all's mind and see if there's something easy. Thanks!

Look at your passenger door seal and how it is installed. Compare it to the drivers side. I had the same problem on my drivers side it had some areas of the seal that tucked behind and over the door panels where it should not have been. Make it match the passenger side. Also look at the little triangle glass plastic trim and rubber it should be flat against the glass. You can run a window calibration as well by rolling the window down from the button on the door and hold it for 5 seconds and do the same after you roll it up.

Re-calibrate the windows as well. They sometimes creep down over time.

While this may not be the solution for everyone, after having a new windshield installed, I noticed the noise on the driver’s side increased significantly, almost as if it were coming from inside the door. To test a potential fix, I applied removable blue tape to alter the profile of the water channel that runs from the top of the windshield toward the back of the R1S. This reduced the noise dramatically. I later replaced the tape with a semi‑permanent filler, which has continued to keep the noise down.

Probably the rubber seal on the back side of the triangle window...the part that's exposed when you roll the window down. I've found that it mostly goes away if I roll the window down and manually manipulate the seal, pinch it together or pull each side towards the gap the window fills, then roll the window back up again. Any time I've noticed the wind noise get louder that seems to fix it at least until I drive with the windows down again. I've been thinking about 3D printing some shims to tighten the gap on that seal to see if it would fix the problem more permanently.

Rivian SC will figure it out and fix it. Did so for mine.
i am hoping so but i've seen a number of threads suggesting they may not do it as part of the B2B warranty, so if there's an easy fix just in case that would be great :)

My R1S driver door had a wind leak from day one; the hissing noise was annoying. In my case, the door did not sit flush with the chassis; it stuck out about 1/4 in. , more noticeable as it got to the top of the door. When I took it in for service at 7.5k miles, the Rivian SC reseated and adjusted the door. In-warranty work. Noise gone.

I discovered this as well after the SC replaced that triangle window trim part and the resulting noise was worse. I cut a strip of that round rubber Uxcell 7mm into 1/4 round strips, and jammed it between the window seal and the triangle window trim piece so as to continuously push/hold the window seal rearward against the leading edge of the window. Noise gone. One could definitely spend more time making it look nice, the picture here was me simply roughing out a design to prove the concept.
