If they would have said dual motor is coming in Q1 of '23 at 800v plus things like heat pump etc i would have changed to it without much fuss. Mine is going to be a daily driver on pavement 99% of the time. The quad is nice but would rather have the newer tech with 800v / heat pump. (Really splitting hairs here / first world problems)

This thread has aged well. the posts on the 2nd complaining about lack of deliveries especially and all that frustration of the 1st announce :)

If you do not already have a reservation, I think you'd be perfectly happy with the dual motor based on the descriptions you've provided, as delivery of any vehicle is 1H24 at this point. I'd expect better EPA rating as well, less weight, less power draw. The downsides will be if you try to go vertical on a rock it won't be as good at torque vectoring like you point out though you don't plan on that.

Having driven single and dual motor EVs regularly for daily driving the difference in my experience is when you floor it in a dual motor your eyeballs change shape from the instant acceleration and in a single motor they don't but you're still faster than 80% of the vehicles out there anyway.

600+ lbs of torque is not enough? ? Dunno, all depends how much weight is actually shaved off, but normally that's more than sufficient. Guess we have to wait 2+ yrs to tell ;)
