My account page changed to this tonight.
Mine is updated too. No email that it was done. I had contacted my Guide 3 days ago about an update. No reply!

Wish they'd let people outside whatever arbitrary radius Rivian has chosen to indicate they're willing to take delivery at a center. I bet a lot of people would be willing to travel to take delivery. It's asinine that 2022 reservations are taking delivery because of some arbitrary lottery.

I have chatted and emailed that I would take delivery at the factory or the service center nearest to factory to save time an transport for them. I know I will still have to pay delivery cost because of arcane business rules. They have no way to understand this. Even though it was a established Tesla BKM. Tesla even had owners come in and help deliver to new owners. I hope they figure out how to use their community of buyers better.

That makes no sense. People buy vehicles out of state, all the time. Taking delivery out of your state shouldn't be a problem. If anything, having the vehicle delivered to you by Rivian seems like a larger problem.
I believe it has to do with individual state laws. Many states enacted restrictions on online vehicles sellers. (Tesla). If they are not a licensed dealer in the state they make them jump through more hoops. Like customers can’t take delivery at their place of business.

That is incorrect. Interstate commerce is facilitated at the federal level. A state can’t tell you what you can’t buy in another state.

Hummmmmm Right now they are trying to Pass HB1388 with Rivian's backing to allow Rivian to sell direct to consumers with out going through a dealer franchise. Currently state law in Washington prohibits this. Interstate Commerce Be Damned.

Correct, WA can restrict what companies/individuals do WITHIN the state. But they can't prevent you from going to ANOTHER state to buy a truck.

Believe it is only for people with estimated delivery dates
The customer support line is that it was only for people with estimated delivery dates (per the Dec 2021 email) in 2022. However, many of us have estimated deliveries for 2022 and never got this email for whatever reason.

Strange- I am a Seattle area customer. I got my “prepare for delivery” email last Friday, guide call Monday, and PBA Monday afternoon. Apparently they are still going through the manual process for some customers. *heres to hoping the new process speeds things up for all of us!!

I sent an email to CS to see if they will look into it. I’ll update if they respond with anything of value.
I had to send a couple of follow up message and copied Tony on the last one. I did get a response that they are aware of the issue and working on it. As a note I did receive the message sent out today.

——————— E-mail response —————-

Thanks for contacting us at Rivian. I apologize for the situation you're experiencing, and the delay in response. We have a large inbound of emails we're working through so if you have an immediate issue, please feel free to call or chat in for a quicker response.

I have recovered all of your emails and I have a message out to our systems team to get a resolution. To your point, we have seen some reservation holders not receive some of our mass emails but do get our individual emails. We are aware of the situation and will resolve this matter quickly.

We will be sure to keep you updated and get you those emails to make sure you're up to speed. We appreciate your continued patience. Thanks again for informing us of this matter. We will reach out here soon. Stay safe and stay adventurous!
