In practice it does not (at least mine doesn't). Regardless, you shouldn't be using it in traffic at slow speed anyway....thats not what it's for.....but drive how you want....it's your prerogative.
The ACC activation signal is required to activate Openpilot for us Comma users which is one of the reasons why we're keen on trying to find a reliable way to activate below 20mph.

Thanks, I will. 👍 Used it this morning to engage at 15mph behind a school bus. Worked a treat, just like it has the hundreds of other times I've done the same.

I've noticed that the distance of the vehicle in front is a significant factor, but that distance isn't tied to the set following distance, nor is it simply as easy as the lead vehicle being 'seen' on the drivers display.

Do you have any evidence for this claim? It clearly operates just fine at slow speed. If you engage it over 20mph, and then slow down, it stays engaged and functions properly.
