Received my running boards a little while ago and finally opened them today. Unfortunately, they did not come with the TP55 or the T20 drill bits as specified in the product page. Also...they came with a deep scratch which I'm sure will rust. Really disappointed because I was going to install these over the holiday weekend. Anyone else have these kind of issues?

I had the end of one side with some nicks around the welds, I used this to cover it and it blended in and has held up well.

You might want to open the bag, the TP55 is small it may be in there but you can pick one up at most hardware stores or Amazon.

They are easier to install than it appears looking at the pieces. I took my time and double/triple checked before cutting the plastic panels and finished everything including the clean up in under 2 hours.

TP55 is unavailable everywhere in store. Can only get on Amazon. Very annoyed because I expected it to be in the box!

Mine definitely had some scarring from shipping (rock sliders, btw). EV Sportline sent me some touch-up paint which I used in all of the bare areas. I figure: I'm actually doing some off-roading, so it was a matter of time, so I now have some touch-up paint for when I scratch them 'on purpose.'

That said, if I was only using them as running boards and aesthetics mattered to me, I probably would have insisted on replacements.

THAT said, I do expect that should rust become an issue they rectify the situation. However, I can say happily that I've not had any rusting issues, and I do a LOT of driving, and these have seen a LOT of environments (snow, salt, mud, rocks, terrible highways, rain, grass and everything in between).

I think the biggest thing you can do is to keep them clean. Leaving salt and road grime on them would be the quickest vector to corrosion.

So sorry to hear about your problems. My delivery included both Torx bits and the running boards had no damage. I also found installation to be easy. At 72, I don’t crawl around under vehicles much anymore, but the ride height of the Rivian made it less of a chore.

It wouldn’t help this weekend, but I’d be willing to send you my Torx bits if you like.

PS: I have found that the front tires throw lots of dirt & mud on the running boards on backroads. I added aftermarket splash guards yesterday, hoping for an improvement.
