Likewise. But to be honest the cost for the capability offered has really killed any excitement I had for the Lightning. My 270 mile Mach E has proven marginal for a few winter excursions in our dcfc challenged region and a SR Lightning will certainly be worse. If my number gets pulled Thursday I will only order one for the tax credit and as a placeholder for an R1T or Evalanche.

Nissan uses a heat pump for heat in the winter. My 2013 Nissan LEAF had a heat pump and this was one of the major improvements in the 2013 model year over the original 2011-2012 LEAF.

Looking at https://www.nissanusa.com/content/d.../2022/2022-nissan-nissan-leaf-brochure-en.pdf, they still offer the heat pump in everything other than the base S trim package, which was the case in 2013 as well. Nissan calls the heat pump a "Hybrid Heater System".

Several companies use them. Tesla just made a big marketing splash with theirs. For example, the Kia Niro has had a heat pump as part of a package for years.

I'm so torn. I was able to place my order in Wave 2 for the F-150 Lariat.

I love the size and features of the Rivian. For my personal tastes, not in love with the front end styling. Love the look of the new Silverado EV. If that wasn't another year and a half out.

My problem, both the R1T and Lighting have features I really want. Unfortunately, neither has all the features I really want.

As noted, size and features of the R1T are a big win. As are the adjustable air suspension and air compressor options. I like the gear tunnel option, but after seeing it in person, it felt smaller than I thought it was. Would have preferred to have more rear seat leg room and sacrifice the gear tunnel, being that it has the frunk already. I prefer the more off-road oriented styling of the Rivian and the automatic Tonneau cover. Plus it comes with a bedliner. Rivian has the better warranty at 5/60,000.

I LOVE the ability to be able to use the F-150 as a home back-up power source. Plus that it has a whopping 9600 watt output available to the Rivian having a measly 1500 watt output from its 110 outlets. The rear leg room in the Ford is a whopping 6 inches more. After having had both a Tesla Model S & Model 3, I so much prefer the vertical screen orientation as well. Finally, again, after having lived with the Model 3 (hated it), I prefer still having a few physical buttons for driver friendliness, rather than having to be distracted and fumble through the screen for everything. The frunk is more appealing. Interior space of the Ford overall, including cab storage space is also more appealing.

Having dealt with Tesla, I don't miss the dealership model. However, while Tesla was AMAZING for the first few years, their customer service has declined drastically as they've grown. So, the added appeal it once had has declined. Mobile service is great. Question will be, how long will it take to get parts for the Rivian if it needs repairs? Ford likely will have everything readily available.

I still can't decide. My Ford order says delivering in 5-6 months. Rivian sent an e-mail last month that said July-September. Which is likely more accurate? Assuming odds are, Ford will be on time and Rivian will be late. It's likely going to come down to who can deliver first. Then, in a couple of years, I'll get the updated version of what's available that will likely have more of everything I want combined into one vehicle (Silverado appears to fit the bill). If Ford calls and says my Truck has arrived and Rivian still hasn't allowed me to place an official order yet, then the decision will be made. If Rivian can meet the target date of July/September, then will probably have to flip a coin and let fate decide which one I end up with!

I am well aware of cold weather performance issues. The R1T is rated for more range than my Mach E so it should be better in winter also. A heat pump helps but doesn’t look to be a game changer.

That's basically what I'm doing. Whoever delivers first. My wife prefers the F150 due to the interior size. I liked the tech on the R1T. I'll be happy with either.

Get both, convert R1T to R1S and keep the Lightening!

Welp, actually was able to order F150 Lightning Lariat+. Now the race is on to see who can deliver first. Still preparing myself to go to the dealership and see an ADM slapped on last minute. If thats the case then I'll just wait for the R1T.

I went through the configurator last week for a Lariat extended range. Before pushing through the order they already posted the $10k markup by the dealer. Plus wanted a $500 non-refundable deposit. Decided to cancel my reservation. Not worth it

Ouch, you should have tried to transfer to another dealer. I believe that might push you to the next wave. But like I said, just because the adm isn't showing in my order right now, doesn't mean my dealer won't get greedy on delivery day.

I also was able to order the Lariat + today. Says delivery in 24+ weeks. Ive got some acreage - it would be handy to be able to run my welder and well pump from the truck battery. Currently I need to use a 9KW generator which I need to get into the bed at 200 pounds. Super loud burns a bit more than a gallon of gas per hour. On the RT1 (which is supposed to deliver for me in Jul-Sept) I would look forward to the height adjustability and the motors at all four wheels. The handling and ride are supposed to be amazing too which I would like to experience. Like others have said- we will see which one delivers first. Also give me some months to read reviews of the trucks that were delivered prior to mine. See if we can glean anticipated troubles.

Apple car play would be a feature I would like on the ford.

Got the call - Now what... I've 90% decided on the Rivian for my daily... But with a April/May time window, I'm not confident that is a realistic timeframe. You'd think if it was actually April, I'd be hearing from Rivian and I've heard nothing.

Just wish Rivian could at least have the same order communication as Ford.
