Factory ppf 2023 R1T issue

Do you know what kind of prep work Rivian does before installing PPF or does Rivian just slap it on, done?
Barely one month old and undriven, my R1S needed paint correction on hood and a couple other places before PPF went on. And installer actually ripped off initial PPF installed on hood because he noticed another paint defect on hood to fix.

From an actual owner having full XPEL and OptiCoat Pro Plus THE ceramic coating on top, firsthand experience, I can categorically tell you that all the alleged issues you have found I simply have not seen and do not exist.
I paid quite a bit more for the PPF install on my EVs, but the place that did them is for the discerning customer. The owner himself put it in writing best: should I ever have any issues with the PPF, bring it in and will fix it for you gratis. That's total peace of mind. Good luck getting that type of warranty from Rivian.

More worthless gross generalization. "Plastics" is a general term. Longevity depends on what kind of plastics you are talking about, how it's applied and what it's subject to. When Gaston Glock introduced his "plastic" framed pistol to the word in 1982, many said it would never work or last. And yet...

I am not a plastics scientist by any means, but as far as I know, plastics last a very long time. That is, it may take hundreds of years for plastics to decompose. In a way, you perhaps might be correct stating that plastics do not last forever, but not lasting forever vs. lasting hundreds of years I tend to think that it is therefore a matter of potato, potahto. Tomahto, tomato.

Organic polymer Plastics become microplastics after time ( physical and chemical attacks) and there is even a gathering of those floating in an ocean. ( PC, PP, PTFE, PS, etc microplastic pollutants are not hundred of years old.) At that point the original physical shape and modulus are not comparable to what it was originally.
Halogenated plastics, like fluorinated teflon etc, are very stable and can last hundreds of years. I am glad the polyurethane films covering our evs are not that durable.
