I’ve always felt these type of farewell posts were like stopping by your recent ex’s parents house and telling them why you left their son.

I loved my Lightning but never considered telling the Lightning forum I was moving on. Kind of none of their business and I doubt they would care.
Many people on this forum clearly care as every such thread bizarrely gets lots of comment traction 🤷

I didn't have a lemon R1, what a joke. So many people are still having problems with their Rivians, have you actually been following anything on this forum for the last 4 years? Every EV except Tesla has frequent issues still these days... BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volkswagen, even the Sprectre.
What you described is not normal for an R1. Your R1 bricking and being unable to drive is not a normal software issue with Rivian.

There are plenty of QC issues with Rivian software, but legit bricking is not a normal issue that's associated with their software.

And, I'm less active here anymore, but still am. I'm also active on reddit, discord, and am very heavily involved with one of the largest clubs in the Country. I promise you that I am very well aware of issues that people run into with R1 vehicles, and have Rivian's attention over it.

Honest question, why are you here? You no longer own a Rivian, and have no intention on buying a Rivian in the near future. Isn’t there a Volvo forum? Why would you want to discuss a vehicle that has “tons of problems” that you don’t even own anymore?

You got rid of your car because it no longer served your needs as good as something else, correct? Why keep rehashing your subpar experience? I had a Ford Explorer ST once that I only kept 6 months because I disliked it so much. I don’t go on the Explorer forum and talk about how their software is laggy dog shit and the car has mediocre performance.

The reason I don’t do this is no one there wants to hear it. Sure, I’m a former owner so my opinion is valid too but I’m not adding anything to the community there by causing problems.
I have a lot of money invested, more than a new Rivian. Regardless everyone has a right to be in here. But if people on here are going to go all out praising Rivian and saying they're the best in the world and no problems, I can't stand by listening to that bologna without saying anything.

To be clear, I'm not saying Tesla is terrible, nor am I saying Rivians don't have issues. I'm just responding to the BS comment that "Every EV except Tesla has frequent issues still these days".
I can't think of any which don't have issues?

It certainly is normal. There's been so much talk about that for four years on this forum and others. Many or even most were bricking the first year esp. And the service in the DC area is abysmal. That's a top reason I switched to another brand. My warranty would have ended in another year and there's no way I'd ever go without a warranty with a Rivian.

That’s patently false, and I’m quite certain you know that. Between this comment and the one you made earlier stating that Teslas don’t have quality problems, makes it clear you’re just trolling at this point.

I heard the number bricked was as high as 250% of the ones delivered.

I never said Tesla's don't have quality issues. Ever. Stop your propaganda. And if you don't want to hear my thoughts anywhere move on and block me.

If you mean same vehicle bricked numerous times, yes that was often the case. Early last year almost every emergency light went on at some point and the vehicles safety systems, air suspension, etc no longer worked properly. I drive my truck home lopsided and Rivian picked it up for service. It was a software issue, not an issue because it was a first year launch edition.

So you're spreading negativity here because your puts on Rivian are about to expire, got it. Thanks for clarifying.
No I'm "spreading negativity" because I'm being attacked for my experiences and essentially being called a lier, and have to apparently defend my experiences. If you trolls would just leave the conversation would end. I can always come up with more details from bad Rivian experiences if you'd like? Or you can move on with your exciting life of trolling elsewhere.

I own a Rivian, it makes sense for me to be here. I also can’t stand short sellers, and you obviously are one considering you don’t have a Rivian and stock price is the motivation you admit is the reason you’re here.

I see the issue. You don't understand what the word "brick" means. It means the vehicle is literally undrivable and cannot be resuscitated without Rivian intervening.
