Faster than expected delivery window!

Well guess I'm going to eat crow here...

I placed my preorder for my current config back in Dec '21. My original delivery time has always been Nov-Dec of this year. I got the 8 steps yesterday, I'm 7/8 steps completed.

I've been in contact with my guide, 6-8 weeks estimated to delivery at my local service center. Spoke with him and said the truck was built, and I was assigned a vin - 12xxx.

Now don't get me wrong - I'm VERY happy, just surprised I didn't get a R1 Shop invite. Just odd how they go about inviting people. I am 30mi from the closest service center, so I guess that does not influence that decision.

One side note, their interest rate they offer is terrible, it reminds me of when I bought my Tesla, I brought a check from NavyFed, but their competing rate was over 1% higher, nearly same situation here.

I would argue only being 30 miles from a service center does very much influence that decision.

Congratulations! I agree with @ads75 that only 30 miles from a Service Center probably worked in your favor. It seems encouraging to me that Rivian appears to be ramping up the R1T production nicely!

Thanks but sadly, no R1T for me. In Rhode Island, you cannot trade a passenger vehicle in for a pickup and get tax incentives when registering. So, I won’t be taking the R1T, but will take the R1S when it’s my turn in 17.3 years. ?

Congrats! I had the same configuration that I placed order Nov 21. I did change from FE to OC. Still waiting for mine.

Confirmed my R1T yesterday as well - pre-ordered Oct 2021. Vin 12xxx as others have posted. I was wondering about eh R1 shop and my guide (who I got the same day I got my "your ready to confirm email") said my truck was already built and is probably gonna be delivered by truck (4 weeks) so I couldn't make any changes - I'm fully locked. 6/8 steps done (I'll pay when i have a delivery date).

Interestingly, my R1S pre-order (Nov 2021) is also "Confirmed" (I didn't confirm it). Asked the guide and said "Oh, that's just Rivian locking it down so the factory can plan for it." I can no longer change the configuration without my guide doing it for me.

Great to see Dec 21 order being filled. We're essentially 6 months into routine customer deliveries for R1Ts (since March 22). It was reported that at the end of 2021, R1's backlog was 71K as of Dec 21. I'm sure you're helped by all the max packs, Canadian orders, and cancellations.

As a Nov 21 R1S holder, I am hopeful that my order will be filled by early next summer. Of course everyone around here probably thinks 2024 but math doesn't add up to be that late so, like you, I am hoping to be surprised.

Since I'm not replacing a vehicle, when it comes, it comes and, while sooner is better than later, its not in my control so C'est La Vie...

So your November 2021 E1S order is now confirmed and delivery is due soon? I had thought they were trying to do this in order and were still on 2019 reservation holders.

Nope, just confirmed. Not steps available and not ready to buy apparently. Could be awhile before I get it according to the guide. I was very confused and it doesn't make much sense.

Seems like they are building them quickly, on Aug 26th I received my 8 steps and had a 108xx VIN. That's about 500 built a week plus whatever the R1S numbers add to this.

Mine is shipping by rail and could land at the service center as early as tomorrow with delivery next week. El Segundo.
