Rivian told me that they were mostly concerned because they didn't want me to be so far away from a service center. So they wanted me to wait until they built one. The problem is because I live in Gallup the service center is going to be at least 2 hours away and possibly more like three to three and a half. That's just the nature of living in a small town in a massive state. They do have a mobile guy who can do a lot of work. Although unfortunately not glass work currently. Although I did talk to the service center and turns out that Safelite does have Rivian glass for at least the front window. I'm hoping it very little else breaks. At least in the near future.
Makes sense to not wait in your situation, since you'll never have a service center nearby. I saw your post about the rear window exploding, that sucks but I'm glad you can get it fixed without taking it all the way to phoenix. Seems like their glass in general is sub-par. Hope you have no more issues and enjoy the R1S! I'm seeing more Rivians around SF lately, actually saw 2 at the same time the other day going different directions near Sprouts.

I'm in Santa Fe, so assuming they put one somewhere near ABQ or between ABQ and SF, it should be within an hour drive or so, possibly 30 min. The Tesla service centers are about 20 and 45 min away from us. I figure by 2025 they should have most of the kinks worked out, plus the NACS port, plus a fairly local service center - all of which make it a much less risky proposition. And we don't really need it ASAP, so for us holding off for a year or 18 months is no big deal.
