Big thumbs up for this design. I vote to ensure this design uses Apple OEM MagSafe pucks, and nothing generic.

Regarding the top plate materials/finishes, ideally, best options would be something with a “grippy” finish. While you can’t make anything using rubber, is there a rubber-like coating that could be applied to the aluminum material?
Nothing that wouldn't require much more space than my garage can currently do. As for the magsafe Apple vs aftermarket. We will offer this with both charging pucks or no charging pucks.

Very well done! Seconding the request for a rubberized material at the top. May even make it easier to level off with the wood trim. I also love that you're utilizing the existing wiring and leaving the USB-C ports free. Are you able to get the full 15w for both chargers simultaneously using that approach?

While we may not be common, there are those of us who rock our phones caseless.

I literally cannot use something with an aluminum top. My glass backed iPhone will slide around.
And the aluminum, the phone glass, or both will get scratched up.

While I haven't tested it... it has the capability to. I am not able to confirm the OEM connector can supply 30 watts though.

It shouldn't move with the magsafe. That's the whole point of magsafe. It locks in place. As for scratching? The aluminum sheet will be powder coated. I can't imagine it scratching it.

One other question: does it require modifying the MagSafe adapters, or do you have an adapter to convert the stock connector to dual USB-C?

The only buck converter capable of dual 15 watts usb were (unfortunately) usb A connectors. So I have to use a converter to get my magsafe to work.

Me as well. This is exactly what Im looking for. Currently have a magsafe puck stuck to my stock pad. Would love this is a solution, Im not really a fan of the 3d printed options out there.

Agree with many other. Love the pocket,
Looks great, love the integrated idea.

Not sold on the idea of an aluminum top plate, though. Seems like it could create a rattle point when phones are sitting on it, it could get pretty hot in sunlight, and could scratch the phones of those among us who (correctly ;)) do not keep our phones in a case. I would prefer a soft touch rubber surface.

Agree. I love the idea of the deeper pocket. Love the integration. Would like a rubber top. Do that, then shut up and take my money ?

It should be able to supply 30w. 12v @ 5A = 60W, and I believe the OEM charging pad is on a 5A circuit.

Nice thanks! Then yes the buck converter will handle 30 Watts.
