Forest Edge coming back?

Does anyone have intel on if Forest Edge is coming back and if so, the potential timeline? Holding off on a gen 2 dual max order hoping it’ll return.

Yup… they are ushering in a blue theme late 2024. Looks like forest edge is discontinued for now.

I don’t think FE is gone. Kyle from Out of Spec has a section in his 2hr refresh reveal video where he reviewed the interior colors and materials for Gen 2, and FE was on display with brown ash wood and plaid fabric. There’s no chance that Rivian displayed that interior color combination by accident, and Kyle even said that Rivian plans to cycle through the interior options during the course of production. We may not see it as an available option soon, but I don’t think it’s dead.

My bet is that it is discontinued. If they were going to keep it as an option you would think you could order a configuration with it, it's definitely not listed in the available options for any trim level.

I think the new "blue" (slate) is for Ascend trim only but I might be wrong.

Thank you for linking the specific spot in his video. I noticed that the forest edge on top of the table had plaid accents, which leads me to believe it’ll only be for the ascend trim. And then the regular forest edge was underneath the table. Hopefully FE will be an option for both trim levels because I’ll be getting the dual max.

I agree—especially because they made a point to have a new FE with plaid on top of the table, and the "old" FE in one of the cubbies below, with the other former color combos.

It would be a shame if they retired FE—it's such a beautiful interior that pairs surprisingly well with many of the exterior colors and, in my opinion, far and away the jewel of the G1 lineup (though I've never seen OC in person). I'm biased with my FG/FE R1T following my father's other double green (LG/FE R1T), but I think the green-on-green combos are beautiful and really stand out from the largely black/white/grey automotive landscape out there. I do love the new shades of blue they introduced, and I will strongly consider going storm blue/slate sky for the R2 we have on reserve (I think my partner will agree since she loves blue) if that's an option.

I guess we don't know yet but I assumed that new 2-tone blue is going to be a QM interior trim option only, so if OP wants a QM next year then maybe there is hope they will release a new FE with that model.
