Hi everyone,
I was going to lease my wife another Tesla but I'm doing my best to lease her a new R1S instead. I'm doing whatever I can to get it within my budget. My friend told me that he got an extra friends and family discount on his and got some assistance from a member of this forum with some free upgraded wheels as well. Is there anyone out there that can assist me with getting my lease payment as low as possible so I can hopefully pull the trigger on one instead of the Tesla. I'm located in California. Thanks everyone and looking forward to hopefully upgrading from Tesla to Rivian.

F+F is limited to R1T. It requires an order, then an employee with referral availability, then delivery on or before 5/31. So probably too late unless you already have an R1T order and a delivery date in May.

Wow! This is great. is it fair to think that if this F+F discount brings the price of the truck below $80k that it would then qualify for the EV tax credit (assuming other requirements are met)? In essence, this could take an $87k truck and turn it into a $72k truck—right? Thanks for the guidance, team….apologies if I’ve misunderstood anything. Thanks!

EV tax credit is based on MSRP. It’s also $3750 on Rivian’s. Your best bet is the lease and then buy out the lease. If you lease there are 3 main benefits:

1. .0001 Money Factor or rent charge. This equates to 0% interest for 3 years. Hopefully by that time if you want to buy out the car loan rates will have dropped
2. You get the full $7500 EV credit applied to the lease regardless of the truck price and income caps
3. There is an additional $3500-$4750 lease credit applied as a promo.

I have never done a lease but it seems like a no brainer in this situation to maximize all the discounts.
