A bit under $2400 for top quality front end Xpel installation with wrapped edges done by Automobilia in West Haven across the Sound from you. Probably a good regional price comparision from a respected high end Xpel installer.

Full wrap, Xpel Stealth, edges included, cheapest I found in Dallas is $5500. That company has great reviews on yelp but not responding. So I'm actually going with someone else charging $5900
I just had our R1S done in Dallas: full vehicle PPF with Llumar Valor (12 year warranty) $5000 (no tax with payment other than credit card) as long as part of package including window tint ($249 windshield and $549 all remaining glass except for roof, again no tax). Needs to go for final look over / touch up in a week or so but after that you are welcome to take a look at the install if you like.

Last night the genius across the street decided to blow off a ton of fireworks in the street vs. his own backyard like most people do. I woke up to three of our cars littered with debris from his pyrotechnics. Thankfully with the help of cleaner wax from my boat all the marks came off my hood, the Tesla hood and the i3 hood.

So, I think it's time to get the front end wrapped, just the hood and flat nose area should do in my case as I don't really drive a lot. My R1T was delivered Jan 20th and I just broke 1K miles on the odometer last week.

With that in mind.. I'm looking for cost info from anyone who has done similar work (just a front end wrap) before I call my PPF guy (who has done both our Tesla's earlier) so I know if I have to negotiate with him or not if his price is reasonable.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear about this! I highly recommend @twraps PPF. It’s do it yourself but super easy and very cost effective.

This doesn't directly address the OP's question but will throw it in. My wife and I did the TWRAPs on the door steps and tailgate of our R1T. Did the tail gate because we haul bikes around a lot and the bike rack can contact the tailgate sometimes. We found it to be pretty easy and forgiving installation process. Did that for about $200. Given the positive experience we had with the tailgate I am thinking about doing the front end myself.

Which shop did you use? Anyone in particular you worked with?

Thanks for your account. Looking at the hood of the R1T.. it's huge and I think a self-install would prove super difficult for me.

Maybe I'll have my guy install just the hood using his own PPF and I'll attempt the small front areas myself using the TWRAPs PPF?

If you are good with your hands do the twraps. Buy the 5 piece front wrap and install yourself. Think they are $160 or so. Thats the most useful one in my opinion. Cost you less than taking out the family for dinner. Just watch the temperature and humidity and start with the small pieces. Be ready to get more fluid because they don’t give you enough. Did both my Rivian and Model 3. Worked great. Take the 2 grand you saved and fly to Hawaii.

I’m also in SoCal, Santa Clarita, and would appreciate info on your installer as I should have my R1S soon and will want a front PPF done.
My person's name is Koosha. He does work out of his own home in Tustin.

If you search Instagram for "Pinnacle Film Protection", that's his page. He did all my vehicles, my friend's/cousins vehicles as well. I'm having him do my future R1S and re-do my 911 GT3. Front end only for me. You can mention a referral from me if you wish maybe he can do a better deal :).

PPF can range quite a bit depending on coverage and type of film used. I would say a quality installation would be anywhere from $2,000 to $2,800. We float around $2,200 to $2,500 depending on the vehicle for a full front end.

We're in SoCal too! lol

We just worked on a few R1S' and an R1T for some forum members. We have a forum member special going on - I can send over some pricing if you'd like :like:

Doesn't Rivian charge $1,500 to add the front wrap as an option? That would be my starting point in negotiations.

That seems to be the going rate in many areas.

My guy called me at 8pm tonight to tell me he could do my R1T on the 17th and I would get it back on the 19th... he is going to text me pricing options tomorrow.

That sucks!!! :(

As for the front end wrap, we make & sell a DIY version without edge wrapping (edge wrapping coming soon though):
https://twraps.com/products/full-front-ppf-for-rivian-r1t

Screenshot 2023-07-05 at 9.15.18 AM.png

Screenshot 2023-07-05 at 9.15.24 AM.png

We also sell PPF for each panel of the R1T separately, you can browse all products here:
https://twraps.com/collections/rivian-r1t

You can use code GASGONE for 10% off.
When you say edge wrapping is coming soon, which of your PPF products will offer edge wrapping? When do you expect to begin offering that?
