My hood on my R1T flexes way more than I would expect at highway speeds. At 65mph+, there is an obvious depression right in the middle and I can see the front edge bowing up. I feel that with a good gust of wind, I might be faced with the hood ripping open and taking out the windshield. It seems there may not be enough bracing on the underside. Is this what you are all seeing? Or do I need to get mine in for service ASAP?

Personally I haven’t seen any indication of this in my truck. The hood doesn’t flex any more than the hood of any other vehicle I’ve had at least not that I’ve noticed.

I think it's an optical illusion, but there were some early trucks that didn't get enough sealer between the skin and the supports.

I do notice hood buffeting. Originally my hood panel alignment was bad. I had that adjusted and still see it. I don't know if they checked the adhesive. See the link below about this hood adhesive quality issue.

Interesting...I thought it was weird that I have hood misalignment and the fluttering at highway speeds and this makes a lot of sense

Thanks and I guess I'll have to put in a service ticket... hopefully they can send someone a I live 2 hours away from sc

I noticed this issue at highway speed as well. If I push down on the middle of the frunk, there is a little play/it isn't solid like a hood usually is. Strange that this would be an issue still given that the customer satisfaction campaign was 6 months ago.

Im seeing the same. I went through an automatic car wash which I'll never do again. I thought I was going to lose the hood. It swelled up like a balloon.

85mph or higher on the highway the hood looks like it's going to peel off.

I had the same thing when I took delivery, but it would start to flex around 45+ mph. The adhesive for the center part of the hood was completely missing during manufacturing and quality checks. Below are the notes from my service visit that resolved the issue.

Concern: Inspect and verify the proper application of hood mastic, hood bolt torque, and hood bumper installation. Please perform the work instructions in the link below and record your values:https://rivian.sharepoint.com/:w:/s...dBm8h-OZC0QzkBl7UvjZGdk61Er9-_aAEpcA?e=e6ui2d

Cause: inspected hood for adhesive. upon inspection found that the hood had no adhesive installed.

Correction/Remedy: installed hood adhesive properly. performed test drive and verified hood flutter was no longer present.

Engineering Investigation: ENIV-38 - Hood Flutter/Shake

Mine has a tiny bit of hood flutter. I'm going to have it addressed whenever it goes in for a service. It's not enough that it feels like it will cause a safety issue, but it does catch my eye every once in a while.
