Hey gang - ever since I got my R1T back January, I've been having issues with vent movement using the display. I noticed that at times, either the vent wont react at all, or will partially react. For example - If I try to close the center vent entirely, it will either not do anything, or just partially close. After driving for sometime, it would work fine but then shortly afterwards, stop reacting again.

I thought this was a software issue... until today; I had the music turned off and I could hear the servo motor for the vents do its thing when I toggled it, but the vents didn't move, or partially moved. This went on for a good 2-3 minutes until suddenly it started working - but until then, every movement of the vent had the same sound, like a servo motor actuating, but nothing happening. I then left for an hour-long drive and when I arrived at my destination, the vents worked perfectly fine without fail.

Anyway I opened a service ticket (and I have the failures on video) - but wondering if anyone has seen this before? And yes - calibration for the HVAC vents was done by a mobile tech when they did the 12v battery swap (I pointed out this being an issue), the car has been rebooted since then due to software updates, and still the same issue.

No - but, like yours, I've seen random issues written up here that most people have never experienced. I just got my '23 R1S back from the SC last week. We had had a number of "Coming to an emergency stop" messages and they claim they finally resolved it - telling me it was a software issue when the battery is low. So they did a patch. I admit I'm skeptical - yes, the last issue was when I was down to 3% SOC (4 miles from home and my charger), but I'd had the same issue when at a 60% SOC.

I chock it up to being a "feature" of a software-defined vehicle. Hopefully they'll be able to sort out your issue in the SC. One thing to check...They replaced a number of other components on ours in January and to get to them they remove the dash with the infotainment screen attached. After I picked it up and got home I noticed that my screen was cracked in the bottom corner! They agreed that it must have happened during the service so they replaced my screen. Check everything!
