I have been looking for seat covers since January 2023. Requirements included: 1) Fit that looks close to OEM 2) Smart Stitch technology that allows side airbags to deploy 3) Non-plastic material.
I received the following last week and have been quite happy since installing them. The photo below shows the grey of the seats as a little blue. They are actually gray.
The company is seat covers unlimited.
The installation instructions are quite generic and there are a couple of Rivian specific issues that are not covered in the directions. Those details follow.
There are three straps on the front of each seat bottom cover. These need to go under the seat and clip into its paired strap on the back that goes between the seat back and cushion.
Two issues with these straps for (at least for my Gen 1) Rivian seats. First, if you go around the plastic piece on the front of the seat, you cannot open the small storage container located there. Second the assembly of the Rivian seat makes this step of assembly very difficult if you wish to go between the seat and plastic bottom piece. The attachment points and the close tolerances make this difficult if not impossible (at least for the center strap). Although the instructions do not address this issue, by taking off the plastic buckles, you can pull the seat cushion back far enough to thread the straps on the outside of the bottom cover on the inside of the attachment points. The center strap is the most difficult to install as it needs to go between the plastic piece and the seat cushion AND go behind the storage container. I was able to do this by pulling the center of the seat cushion back, placing my fingers in this small space, feeling for the front on another piece of material below the cushion and pushing the strap toward the back of the vehicle. Wear nitrile gloves or your fingers will get pretty scraped up in order to accomplish this step.
Once done, however, the sides of the seat cover fit nicely between the cushion and bottom plastic trim pieces solidifying the seat cover in place.
All told, I'm very happy with the quality, fit, and comfort of these seat covers. Sorry this post is so long, but I ran out of time.
