Full Size 21" Spare Tire - Please Rivian!

Rivian, can I please just buy a single, full size 21" spare? You have sets of 4 in the shop now. I just need one so I can take my truck where it's supposed to go - my backyard in So. Utah. Come on already!!! Good Lord.

Jake, I ordered a full size 21 spare with my config. My truck was delivered in June without the spare, but I got it in early September. Did you order one originally? They may still be filling pre-order spares.

My original config had one, but I bought one that showed up in the shop with everything I wanted besides Max Pack (actually, my original had 20" ATs). I ignorantly thought it would at least come with a pizza cutter spare. Fix-A-Flat won't cut it when you shred a tire on razor sharp granite roads like we have in Utah. It's happened to me before and I would have been in deep shit without a spare. Glad you got yours, I'm jealous. I asked my local wheel shop about building me a spare and they said it would be about $700 (would require custom drilling to match Rivian's stupid, antiquated lug config). Rivian will probably (almost certainly) charge more for a full sized spare, so I'm considering going with my wheel shop to end the madness. I love going to So. Utah late fall - early spring to avoid the crowds, so I'm desperate. Hey, at least I got my all weather mats last week. It snowed in SLC today, so it was great to have them.

have you spoken with your service center? They can order a single wheel…. Just gotta talk to the right person.

alternatively, find 3 other people who want spares and go split up a 4-pack on the gear shop

I almost ordered a set of 20” ATs, myself, but I would want a 5-pack. I wish Rivian would either make 4/5 an option, or just sell them as singles and people can select the number they need.

I chatted with several agents. They all said the same thing they were saying in August..."coming soon". I'm going to swing by SC here in SLC this week to get torque recall thing done and will talk to them about it.

I like Commodore's idea of teaming up with some other people on a 4 pack. In all reality, I might just have my top notch, 20+ year wheel shop here make me a spare. Said they could do it for around $700 - cheaper than a Rivian single. Who knows what Riv will charge for a spare? Some ridiculous price, I'm sure.

you’ll want the hold down/tool kit(jack etc) too, not just a spare wheel/tire assembly. Service centre should be able to hook you up based on what other people have said.

Maybe partner with someone who is buying 21's and no spare? Buy their spare?

Check with https://modernspare.com. It doesn't look like they carry Rivian at the moment but perhaps they may have some information on when they will and maybe even give you an estimated price for your comparison.

I purchased a spare tire package (included jack) from them for my Mach-E.

BTW, they're based out of Ogden, UT.
